Agree an O&M scope at handover
Define whether the arrangement includes monitoring review, scheduled inspections, cleaning, call-outs and replacement labour. Record equipment models, serial numbers, warranties and the responsible service contacts. A manufacturer's product warranty and an installation contractor's maintenance service are not the same commitment; ask how they work together.
Review performance in context
A lower reading does not by itself identify a failed component. Compare monitoring data with weather, operating time, shading changes and any grid interruptions. Keep a record of alarms and unusual changes. Share the relevant information with the service team rather than resetting equipment repeatedly or opening electrical enclosures.
Plan safe panel cleaning and inspection
Roof access, fall protection, electrical hazards and manufacturer instructions should determine how cleaning is carried out. Cleaning frequency depends on local dust, surroundings, rainfall and observed condition; it is not a universal calendar interval. Agree who checks the mounting, visible cable condition and signs of water ingress without turning an owner checklist into electrical repair work.
Include inverters and storage
For hybrid systems, ask who reviews battery alarms, operating limits, firmware and compatibility questions. Follow the applicable manufacturer service procedures and the agreed emergency plan. Haozailai can discuss maintenance scope coordination for a project; local attendance, response times, spare parts and fees must be confirmed in the service agreement.
Your questions, answered
How often should solar panels be cleaned?
There is no single interval for every roof. Assess the environment, visible condition, performance and safe-access arrangements, then follow manufacturer guidance and the agreed maintenance plan.
Is maintenance included in the installation price?
Only if the agreement says so. Ask for the service period, included visits, exclusions, replacement costs and the contact responsible for handling faults.
